I do not spend much time on the YouTube web site as it is highly addictive and a person can spend numerous hours (read that as waste numerous hours) watching stupid videos of no value whatsoever.

Today, however, I went to the site because I could not remember if it was Utube or YouTube and I needed to send the URL to someone. By chance, the video below was on the home page. This has nothing to do with Costa Rica, but has everything to do with a great and lucky amateur video.

Filmed by a bunch of tourists, maybe in Africa, it is an incredible video featuring a herd of water buffalo, a pride of lions and one very unexpected visitor. Watch it!

I have decided to share this with my loyal readers. I am presuming that he actually wrote this… though as always, it is possible I am violating someone’s copyright. I tend to think he did as his political bent is somewhat to the right right of Genghis Khan. If I am violating someone’s rights, I apologize but do not bother writing me to tell me to remove it as I live in Costa Rica and I am pretty much threat-proof.

WARNING: If you are a Liberal, you may find this slightly…ummm… well, anyway, read it if you wish! It’s pretty funny and kinda accurate.
Early humans existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunter/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer & would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundations of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: Liberals and Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early human ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery or in clubs like the Elks or the Moose. That’s how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as “the Conservative movement.”

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q’s and doing the sewing, fetching and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as ‘girliemen.’

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years, conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.

Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn’t “fair” to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies, hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to “govern” the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America.

Liberals crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get MORE for nothing.

Here ends today’s lesson in world history: It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it. A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other “true believers.”

However, this morning I received these gems… I have no idea if these people actually said these things… I always have doubts, but who really cares? Pretty funny stuff IMHO. I am probably violating someone’s copyright, though I am not sure if that is possible if these are actual quotes.
“I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, natural, wholesome things
that money can buy.”
–Tom Clancy

“You know “that look” women get when they want sex? Me neither.”
–Steve Martin

“Having sex is like playing bridge. If you don’t have a good partner, you’d
better have a good hand.”
–Woody Allen

“Bisexuality immediately doubles your chances for a date on Saturday night.”
–Rodney Dangerfield

“There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal,
particularly in women. Chief among these is the Mercedes-Benz 380SL.”
–Lynn Lavner

“Leaving sex to the feminists is like letting your dog vacation at the
taxidermist.”
–Matt Barry

“Sex at age 90 is like trying to shoot pool with a rope.”
–Camille Paglia

“Sex is one of the nine reasons for reincarnation. The other e eight are
unimportant.”
–George Burns

“Women might be able to fake orgasms. But men can fake whole
relationships.”
–Sharon Stone

“My girlfriend always laughs during sex—no matter what she’s reading.”
–Steve Jobs (Founder, Apple Computers)

“My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son-of-a-bitch.”
–Jack Nicholson

“Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he
never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is.”
–Barbara Bush (Former US First Lady — and you didn’t think Barbara had a
sense of humor)

“Ah, yes, divorce, from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man’s genitals
through his wallet.”
–Robin Williams

“Women complain about premenstrual syndrome, but I think of it as the only
time of the month that I can be myself.”
–Roseanne

“Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place.”
–Billy Crystal

“According to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing
in front of men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say
that women are too judgmental, where, of course, men are just grateful.”
–Robert De Niro

“There’s a new medical crisis. Doctors are reporting that many men are
having allergic reactions to latex condoms. They say they cause severe
swelling. So what’s the problem?”
–Dustin Hoffman

“There’s very little advice in men’s magazines, because men think, I know
what I’m doing. Just show me somebody naked.”
–Jerry Seinfeld

“Instead of getting m married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like
and just give her a house.”
–Rod Stewart

“See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough
blood to run one at a time.”
–Robin Williams

OK... perhaps it is more of a lustfull thing. ...

OK… perhaps it is more of a lustfull thing. I am totally in love lust with Shakira.

I explained to Maria that should Shakira decide to come to Costa Rica searching desperately for a 60+, overweight Gringo with whom she could spend her declining years, I would have to consider leaving my wonderful wife… forthwith. Well I tried to say that, but I didn’t know how to say forthwith in Spanish. For those of you who know not who is shakira, read on…

Skakira is arguable THE sexiest person of the female persuasion anywhere on the face of the earth.

She is about 30, gorgeous, from Columbia, and can do things with her voice AND her body that quite frankly are not normal. It is the body stuff that sort or causes those sleepless nights.

Shakira is actually Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, born in Barranquilla, Colombia on February 2, 1977 of a Columbian mother and a Lebanese father. She is known simply as Shakira (the Arabic translation meaning “Woman of Grace”).

A quick view of the video below will prove this to be 100% accurate.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The title of the song is “Hips Don’t Lie”, and I am here to tell you that HER hips will embed themselves in your mind and other locations whether you are of the male or female persuasion. Those hips are incapable of untruths!

You can have your Madonna, Brittany, whom-evers… for they are but pretenders, wannabes, and frankly… not very good ones when compared to the real thing.

Maria seems to not put much credence in my threat to leave her should Shakira come aknockin’, probably with good cause. The odds are a tad low that Shakira would ever become that desperate. That, or maybe she has some secret performer stuck in her mind.

With the enormous popularity if this video come the other pretenders like the foxy lady below.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Hmmm…

On the other hand… perhaps I’ll just stick with what I have.

I always like those goofy news articles.

The one I read today was about a German plastic surgeon who apparently got fed up with his non-paying breast enhancement clients and decided to send their photos to the the local police in hopes of having them tracked down.

It seems all of the ladies just sort of walked out after the surgery without as much as a “by-your-leave” leaving the good doctor paymentless.

“Tanja” went out for “fresh air” after 8,000-euro ($10,000) surgery to enlarge her breasts. “She never came back and never paid,” Koenig said. He now plans to demand payment in advance.

It seems he also prepared “wanted posters” showing his handiwork.

Now correct me if I am wrong here, but just who is going to SEE these boobs? Husbands, boyfriends, various lovers? And that begs more questions!

1. Who is going to report this if they DO happen to stumble across those felonious knockers?

2. Who REALLY looks at them all that closely in the first place? I mean we need a POSITIVE ID right?? I happen to believe that a truly close breast examination often provides just too much information for the average viewer.

3. Presuming an arrest… Will there be a line-up?

4. Just how much freedom have the German police to examine the… ummm… the evidence… and maybe MOST important,

5. Anyone know where can I get ahold of one of those wanted posters!

Lately, my health has taken a bit of downturn. Seems that past a certain age, things begin to break. I am also becoming intimately familiar with the CAJA health care system in Costa Rica which I will expound upon soon in a future post.

In any case, I learned something very important today, and I must share it. My doctor tells me I must take Metamusil on a daily basis. Actually, he told me this last year… but I ignored him as 1. I hate those Metamusil commercials, 2. I want to do nothing to help fund them, and 3. taking Metamusil is somehow like giving in to the fact that I am getting olde… and I hate that.

I guess I actually learned three things from all this.

A. It generally is not a good idea to ignore your doctor even if you hate Metamusil or getting old. It would be easy to dispel too much info here about my internal processing plant… but I expect you catch my drift.

B. Metamusil isn’t so bad if you mix it with fresh squeezed orange juice and drink it down promptly (and quickly),

and most important…

C. Do NOT wait more than maybe 1-2 minutes before you drink it (the timing to begin after adding the Metamusil to the OJ)!!

I got busy this morning and let it sit on my desk for about 30 minutes. BIG mistake!
Metamusil, left to its own devices, chemically bonds with the OJ to become this HUGE orange booger. It is gross beyond imagination. I drank it (ate it?) as I was too damned cheap to waste the OJ or the Metamusil, but I can assure you this was a lesson learned!

I am sharing this with al of you as from the email I receive, my regular readers are quite possibly of a Metamusil age. For those of you for whom this does not apply, know this: Getting olde sucks.

Bottoms up!

As with my other blog, a fair number of people ...

As with my other blog, a fair number of people have complained that the old brown color scheme was difficult to read. Not enough contrast for older eyes I am thinking.

With that in mind, I am switching to new theme which hopefully will be easier to read. About the only thing I may want to change on this one, is moving the posting information to the bottom of each post instead of having it appear just below the title.

Anyway, feel free to comment on this new design… good or bad.

Unless you have been living in another dimension, you have probably heard of the "Browser War", the Browser being the program on your PC that you use to visit web sites (like his one) and the War being the two major Players, Microsoft and Firefox.

Unless you have been living in another dimension, you have probably heard of the “Browser War”, the Browser being the program on your PC that you use to visit web sites (like his one) and the War being the two major Players, Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Looking a my stats for this blog, The Real Costa Rica Blog, and The Real Costa Rica, I found something astonishing!

It seems that the readers of these blogs/sites have been moving away from Internet Explorer in favor of Firefox. This in itself is not news. What is news is that, at least with MY readers, are moving away from IE at a much greater rate than I would have thought. Supposedly, IE still has about a 90% market share, but taking a peek at the chart below indicates that IE may have more problems than they thought.

Browser

Hisfault

RCR Blog

Real Costa Rica

Internet Explorer

59%

63%

80%

Firefox

30%

23%

13%

Safari (Mac)

7%

9%

5%

Opera

2%

3%

<1%

While the sample size for RCR greater and thus probably a bit more accurate, it is clear that IE is really taking it in the shorts in general and deservedly so for continuing to market such a dated, poorly designed, and insecure web browser. It is also clear that it is Firefox that is eating their lunch!

I have no other reason to post this other than it’s one of those things that makes you go. “Hmmmm!”
